Database Independent AdHOC Queries

Almost every database has a decent Windows based tool for executing AdHoc queries. IBM® iSeries has "Operations Navigator", Microsoft® SQL Server has "Query Analyzer", and MySQL has "MySQL Query Browser". As a user of these products, one has most of the features needed to run AdHoc SQL statements: what users have not had and frequently needed, is the ability to connect to all of these databases, and more, through a single AdHoc resource... until now...

iHOC Query is that resource!

Native iSeries (AS/400) support

iHOC Query takes advantage of the iSeries DB2 .NET Managed Provider that ships with iSeries Access V5R3. The result is a fast and fully capable alternative to Operations Navigator's "Run SQL Scripts". iHOC is 100% pure .NET and as such offers many features unavailable in OpsNav in a true Windows Rich Client interface. If you have ever used STRSQL or OpsNav to run AdHoc queries on your iSeries, then you will surely appreciate the user friendliness iHOC offers.

Originally designed with iSeries users in mind, iHOC uses many traditional iSeries function keys such as: F3=Exit, F9=Retrieve, F5=Execute, etc. Struggling with CPYTOIMPF may be a thing of the past: iHOC includes built-in export features to easily allow you to save your queries to CSV files, Tab Delimited files, XML, and even MySQL style Dump files. more features...

Additional Database Support

By taking advantage of ADO.NET Managed Providers, iHOC Query also includes native support for Microsoft® SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL databases. Additionally, ODBC support is provided to allow you to connect to almost any other database by using traditional DSNs. iHOC is completely independent of the underlying database. Most features are functional for all database types, making iHOC Query unique: the feature set is the same from platform to platform. And switching from one database to the next is as simple as changing a drop-down box selection. iHOC supports a virtually unlimited number of database connections, making it an ideal tool for DBAs, IT Professionals, or anyone who has to maintain multiple databases.
